A Collaborative Learning Project

Monday 16th October to Friday 27th October 2017

We are delighted to be working on a fifth project with the children and staff of Aberbargoed Primary School.

Class 3 and Class 4 have been learning all about space.

​Recently, they discovered that a spaceship had crash-landed in their school grounds. They explored the evidence and even made possible sightings of the alien in the local community!

This week, a strange email arrived. 

The children and teachers worked together to find a way to translate the email.

To the children and teachers of Year 1 and Year 2,
My name is Mij. I am not from around here. In fact, I am not from Planet Earth. I am an alien from a galaxy far, far away. 
My space ship crashed here a few weeks ago. Luckily, I was not hurt but I have been hiding around your school and town. I have been too frightened to ask people for help. You all look so scary to me.  I am also worried that I might frighten people because we look so different from each other.
I found some books about Freddy Frog and Sir Learn-a-lot in your school, so I know that you are very kind and good at solving problems. Do you think you could help me to get back to my home planet? I miss my family, friends and pets very much.
It would be great if you could send me a reply soon.
